NHU Library Instruction – How to obtain the required books
Steps：
1 Search E-books collected in our library
1.1 Hyread ebook
2.2 Airiti Books
2. Search printed collections owned by our library
2.1 Collection Catalogs
2.2 Take required books from book stacks
2.2.1 Floor Directory
2.3 Proceeding borrowing procedure at circulation desk on 1st floor
3. Borrow printed books from other libraries (Free)
3.1 NHU users can obtain an “interlibrary card” at the circulation desk of NHU Library with library card.
3.2 Make sure that the consortium library holds the requested items.
3.2.1 ChangHua, YunLin, and Chiayi Alliance College and University Libraries: Ta-Tung institute of Commerce and Technology Library, Da-Yeh University Library, National Chung Cheng University Library, Chung Chou University of Science and Technology Library, China Medical University Library, WuFeng University Library, MingDao University Library, National Formosa University Library, Chienkuo University of Science and Technology Library, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology Library, National Chiayi University Library, National Changhua University of Education Library, National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport Library, Toko University Library, TransWorld University Library.
3.2.2 Search from the catalogs of each library

3.3 Borrow “interlibrary card” from NHU Library with library card.
3.3.1 The loan period is 28 days.
3.4 Go to consortium libraries to borrow books in person with “interuniversity library card.”
3.4.1 Consortium libraries admit the card only. Carrying “interlibrary card” when borrowing books is necessary.
3.4.2 The maximum loan items and loan period depends on each consortium library.
3.5 Please return books on time. If the items become overdue, you should pay the overdue fine.
3.6 Interlibrary loan card should be returned before the overdue date. If the card becomes overdue, you should pay the due fine.
4. Borrow printed books from other libraries (Charge / By NDDS)
4.1 Using this service after confirming that you can not obtain items through the above-mentioned free services.
4.2 Steps
4.2.1 Make sure where requested items are located
-- National Bibliographic Information Network
-- REAL Library Collection Search (REsearch ALl in one)
4.2.2 Confirm the application fee
-- Compare the fee between libraries: Search the fee of each library (NDDS)
-- Apply to the libraries which charged lower than others if you have enough time.
-- Do not apply to large libraries to avoid waiting longer than others.
-- Apply to small libraries: The application items of small libraries may be fewer, so the waiting time may be shorter.
-- Do not apply to National Central Library: NCL does not offer borrowing service.
4.2.3 Submit requests through NDDS online (After connecting the NDDS website, click to the “Log in” option of ”For Users” )
-- If you are first time user, please request an account.
-- Waiting for the sending from the applied library to our library.
-- Waiting for about one week
-- Application Tracker.
4.2.5 After receiving an e-mail notice, collect the application item and pay the bill at library reference desk.
-- Service hours (Please see the reference desk’s service hours)
4.2.6 Return the books to reference desk before the due date.
-- If the item becomes overdue, you should pay the overdue fine in advance. Collect the receipt at library after the applied library sending it to our library.
