NHU Library Instruction – How to find the required theses & dissertations
Steps:
1. Search digital theses and dissertations of NHU
1.1 NHU Digital Theses and Dissertations system
2. Borrow printed theses and dissertations of NHU
2.1 Collection Catalogs
2.2 Confirm that the status shows “ON SHELF”
2.3 Take theses at Theses and Dissertations Area
2.4 Check out at circulation desk on 1st floor with library card
3. Download digital theses and dissertations of other libraries

4. Borrow printed theses and dissertations from other libraries (Free)
4.1 Borrowing “interlibrary card” from NHU Library before going to Consortium libraries is necessary.
4.2.1 ChangHua, YunLin, and Chiayi Alliance College and University Libraries: Ta-Tung institute of Commerce and Technology Library, Da-Yeh University Library, National Chung Cheng University Library, Chung Chou University of Science and Technology Library, China Medical University Library, WuFeng University Library, MingDao University Library, National Formosa University Library, Chienkuo University of Science and Technology Library, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology Library, National Chiayi University Library, National Changhua University of Education Library, National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sport Library, Toko University Library, TransWorld University Library.

4.3 Borrow “interlibrary card” from NHU Library with library card.
-- The loan period is 28 days.
4.4 Go to consortium libraries to borrow books in person with “interuniversity library card.”
4.4.1 Consortium libraries admit the card only. Carrying “interlibrary card” when borrowing books is necessary.
4.4.2The maximum loan items and loan period depends on each consortium library.
4.5 Please return books on time. If the items become overdue, you should pay the overdue fine.
4.6 Interlibrary loan card should be returned before the overdue date. If the card becomes overdue, you should pay the due fine.
5. Applying copy service of printed theses and dissertations from other libraries (By NDDS)
5.1 Using this service after confirming that you can not obtain items through the above-mentioned free services.
5.2 Steps:
5.2.1 Make sure where the requested items are located

5.2.2 Make sure whether the library which holds the requested items offers loan service or not. Make sure the standard charge.

--NCL does not offer borrowing service.
--Submit requests online (NDDS) (After connecting the NDDS website, click to the “Log in” option of ”For Users” ) -
--If you are first time user, please request an account.
--Waiting for the sending from the applied library to our library.
--Waiting for about one week
--Application Tracker.
5.2.5 After receiving an e-mail notice, collect the application item and pay the bill at library reference desk.
--Service hours (Please see the reference desk’s service hours)
5.2.6 Return the books to reference desk before the due date.
